2/7/22 - NEVERTHELESS, SHE PERSISTED

Her Ensemble come to Village Underground, as part of Spitalfields Music Festival. The programme for this event, titled Nevertheless, She Persisted, highlights glorious music by women, which even today makes up only 5% of the repertoire played by classical musicians each year.

9/3/22 - MUSICA FESTIVAL

 Ellie Consta joins Musica Festival in Manchester for a conversation and Q+A. Hosted by Feel Good Club, an incredible space in the heart of Manchester, run by two wives on a mission to make you feel good! 

The event is free and welcome to all but we do ask you get a free ticket so we can manage attendee numbers. 

Yummy food and drinks will be available throughout the whole event from Feel Good. Come along for an evening of good vibes, good conversation and good food.

8/3/22 - FORGOTTEN IN HISTORY

Taking place on International Women's Day, Her Ensemble celebrate over 2000 years of female composers in their show 'Forgotten In History' at the Carole Nash Hall in Manchester on 8th March.

12/3/22 - NOISENIGHT SIX

Her Ensemble showcase some of their favourite quartets written by women for Noisenight Six.

Located in a converted postal sorting office, the venue seemlessly merges a high-end theatre space with an informal bar.

Her Ensemble recorded their first brass group at State51 as part of their Women In Music series. The duo recorded 'Bells In The Air' by Cecilia McDowell. As is often the case with female compositions, there were no recordings available online, so it was an honour to record and make readily accessible for anyone to watch for free in the new year on the State51 YouTube.

Her Ensemble were honoured to collaborate with artist, writer, researcher, trans/queer/femenist activist CN Lester. It was exhilarating interpreting some Barbara Strozzi from a chart, as opposed to 'parts', which involved coming up with their own parts and improvising. The live video will be on YouTube in the new year.

Her Ensemble were joined by Caitlyn Scarlett for a livestream performance of 'Forgive Yourself' alongside music written by women from the past 2000 years including works by Hildegard von Bingen, Alma Mahler, and Florence Price that the ensemble arranged themselves.

Her Ensemble released their debut single 'Coma (for strings)' in collaboration with award-winning composer and electronic artist Alexandra Hamilton-Ayres. The work is an arrangement of 'Coma' from Alexandra's debut album.
