00 ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Ellie Consta is a Greek-British violinist, arranger, and Artistic Director of Her Ensemble. Classically trained, Ellie began writing string parts for her housemate's songs for fun during lockdown, inspiring a whole new way of music making.
 
Ellie’s versatility and diverse range of musical interests means her time is divided between writing and performing with acclaimed artists/bands and renowned classical groups, with the aim to approach all music with the same intrigue and honesty. 
 
Most recently, Ellie directed a collaboration with Billie Marten to sold-out Barbican where she arranged songs from all 4 albums for orchestra. Other artist collaborations include working with Laura Marling, Flyte, Jordan Rakei, The National, Jonny Greenwood, Olivia Dean, Louis Cole and touring with Max Richter and Louis Tomlinson. 
 
Ellie has led recording sessions for TV and film scores including ‘All Of Us Strangers’, ‘Insomnia’, and ’Anna Nicole Smith: You Don’t Know Me’, as well as recording on blockbuster films such as The Matrix, several Marvel films, Saltburn and campaigns for Prada and Dior.
 
Other orchestral leading includes Guy Barker’s Big Band, London Contemporary Orchestra, Manchester Collective, Sinfonia Cymru as well as guest principal 2nd for the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Ensemble and Spira Mirabilis. Ellie is also a member of the 12 Ensemble and has been offered contracts with the CBSO and ESO.
